15 Contact Hours: Provides CEFE™ Certification Physical Demands Analysis and Functional Employment Testing is a method to assist prospective employers in hiring, selecting, and maintaining worker fitness for the job. In addition to an employer's workplace safety program, this service is an effective and necessary part of a comprehensive disability prevention and disability management program. Learn how to develop and perform functional Employment Testing in a standard clinical environment with a minimum investment in testing equipment. This two-day workshop instructs participants in how to identify a job's essential functions, as well as how to evaluate & document a new-hire's performance in those functions. Our process is based upon objective scientific research and conforms fully to EEOC Guidelines for application of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
At the completion of the course you will receive 1.5 CEU's (in most states).
Objectives - Review basic elements of the ADA, ADAA, FMLA, and Workers' Compensation. - Differentiate between a Physical Agility Test and a Post-Offer Evaluation. - Learn protocols for performing a job analysis (Physical Demands Analysis). - Review and identify the necessary elements of musculoskeletal screening. - Learn the elements and application of various material handling and non-material handling tests. - Learn and practice clinical reasoning skills required to incorporate job simulation techniques into an Employment Test. - Learn and practice basic documentation skills for Employment Tests. - Explain successful marketing techniques for Employment Testing services and billing for the service. - Pre-requisite Skills - Range of Motion - Manual Muscle Testing - Reflex Testing - Heart Rate and Blood Pressure - Basic Postural Assessment Skills Who Should Attend This seminar will be helpful to any of the following who meet the prerequisites above. About Certification This workshop certifies that as a Certified Essential Functions Evaluator you are able to identify a job's essential functions and then evaluate and document the performance of a new-hire candidate's ability to meet those functions using the techniques and protocols taught in the course. Certification requirements include attending the entire two-day course; passing a written test with at least an 80% score; demonstrating understanding of the testing protocol in a practice session; and handing in a basic case study report. Upon successful completion of all requirements, you be awarded your certification designating you as a Certified Essential Functions Evaluator (CEFE™). Continuing Education Units Most professionals receive the standard 1/10 of a unit per contact hour. This workshop is approved for 1.5 CEUs in most states.
