Our user asked: "My right shoulder has been loose since middle school I'm now 32, to me more specific if I relax standing arm at side my arm will hang slightly out of socket, I can just to pull my arm up/in but relaxing would slight hang out. Rarely causes discomfort and I can lift heavy objects. I've seen exercises for the rotatory cuff and ligaments for the shoulder capsule me question is, is there a device I can wear that will stabilize and/or hold my shoulder in socket while doing the exercise so to strengthen those delicate muscles with every thing in place or will doing them regardless of how loose my shoulder is eventually pull it in to place?"
Ask a PT Response: "A common tool we utilize for a patients with conditions similiar to yours is kinesotape. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2012/08/10/medical-professionals-explain-why-olympians-are-wearing-that-colored-tape-and-why-you-probably-shouldnt/
The tape is desgined to help activate/facilitate motion at a joint. Here is a link for more questions:
http://www.kinesiotaping.com/global/corporation/about/faqs.html You can go on You tube to see examples of how to tape your shoudler. I hope this helps."
