Our user asked: "I am interested in becoming a physical therapist. I have a Master Degree in another profession. Would be very grateful if you would kindly direct me to the best website that would have a list of the best physical therapy schools. Also, please let me know what the education requirements would be since I already have a Master Degree in Education, how long the program would be, what kind of health benefits physical therapists get, and any other education requirements and helpful advice."

Ask a PT Response: "Here is a link to US News 2008 best PT programs:
http://education.yahoo.com/college/essentials/school_rankings/grad/grad_health_rankings.html (please copy & paste)
You can find links to other PT programs on our Find a PT School page:

There are many other variables you should consider as well. ie. costs, time, educational requirements, etc.. when considering a PT school.

Most PT schools are now at the doctorate level. In order to apply to these programs there will be course prerequisites which must be taken prior to applying. Unfortunately with your major in English, you may have to take quite a few of these prerequisite courses before you can apply. You should contact the schools you are interested in to learn more about what the requirements for application will be.

As far as health benefits, that will most likely be determined by your place of employment once you have a job. This will vary between various employers.

You can also find more information on PT schools by visiting the student section of our Forum: http://www.cyberpt.com/ptforum/forum_topics.asp?FID=4

If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us. Thank you for using CyberPT."
