Our user asked: "Can you please suggest Core Strengthening exercises I can perform at home. I am 66 years of age & have been diagnosed with arthritis. Thanks" Ask a PT Response: "Core strengthening exercises involve strengthening your back and abdominal muscles. Some common exercises prescribed by physical therapists can be found on the exercise video page: ie. 4pt arm/leg lift, partial ab curls/pelvic tilt, lumbar rotation in sitting, partial forward lunges, sitting alternating arm/leg lift on ball, supine curl ups on ball and prone opposite arm/leg lifts on ball. As with the start of any exercise program, it is recommended that you consult with your physician or physical therapist prior to participation. Thanks for using CyberPT." |
