Hello! I have been a traveling PT for about 4 years now. I can tell
you that traveling therapy is a very rewarding lifestyle, but has some
very large headaches associated with it. These headaches are so great
that I actually created a website to try and address them. Namely, the
industry is set up where you HAVE to have a middle man, i.e. travel
company, that is so obviously looking out for themselves and not you,
that it makes you want to pull your hair out. Thankfully, after some
experience, you learn ways around this, or at least ways to minimize
it, and the remainder is a wonderful professional choice.
http://www.medtravelerclub.com/ I hope will be the answer to all of your questions and actually will eliminate most of the headaches before even your first assignment. It provides rankings and insights into the companies and facilities across the country that you might want to travel to, and ALL of the information is BY therapists FOR therapists. Hope this helps! I am a PTA student and I will be graduating in May of '09. I am trying to find information on traveling therapy jobs. I really want to travel and I would like to know what traveling therapy is like from other traveling therapists and how much experience I have to have in order to travel. Any information would help.
