Our user asked: "I'm studying to become a physical therapist assistant and I'm lost on what types of jobs PTAs specialize in. So, what are all the different types of jobs/people I can specialize with or in? Besides working with only the elderly and specilizing in geriatric..are there specialties where i can work specifically with babies, women, children, etc? Thank you."

Ask a PT Response: "There are a number of settings and opportunities which you can go into. ie, aquatics, sports med, orthopaedics, vestibular, women's health, neuro, geriatrics, etc. My suggestion for you would be to pick a variety of clinicals in different settings or volunteer in different settings to see what you like best. Best of luck to you."
