Ask a PT Response: "This is a pretty general question and should be determined on a case by case basis depending on the patient and other underlying factors. A consensus group made up of 18 arthritis experts determined that exercise for hip and knee OA should be individualized and patient-centered, taking into account factors such as age, comorbidity, and overall mobility.
