Our user asked: "I suffered a broken tibia, fibula and ankle socket 7 weeks ago and will soon be visiting my doctor for x-rays and an approval to begin physical therapy. In the interim, the doctor instructed me to gently flex my ankle up and down, 20 reps, 4x a day. I can barely do this -- and certainly not with the same range of motion as demonstrated in your similar exercise videos on this website. Should I be concerned about this, at this point? I can probably only flex it up and down a total of about 2-3 inches."
Ask a PT Response: "It is not abnormal to have limited range of motion given the type of injuries you have sustained. Once you begin healing and are in PT you should be able to achieve more motion. Best of luck with your recovery!"
