Our user asked: "Hello, I am currently a PTA student at NWTC in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I am 45 yrs old, have an associate degree from UW Marinette and I am currently in the process of acquiring my PTA degree. Recently I found out about a PT who is seeking a PTA student to continue on and become a PT and eventually take over his practice. I have a meeting with him tomorrow morning and I am seeking advice on what questions I should be asking. Do you have any suggestions?"
Ask a PT Response: "Some questions I would ask are:
1) How does he generate referrals? 2) Does he belong to PTPN for insurance contracts and if not how does he seek reimbursement from insurance? 3) What are the fixed expenses? 4) What is the clinic currently bringing in as far as revenue goes? 5) Are there any litigious actions against the company? 6) How is the business set up? ie LLC, S-corp etc. 7) What are the financial obligations to acquire the clinic? I hope this helps. " |

Is there any specific reason that the owner is interested in starting with a PTA?
