Hi,
I am new to this forum and wanted some feedback. I am thinking about going
to work for a outpatient Ortho clinic that has a medical director/Owner that is a DC.
It also has an MD and 2 PTs. The reputation of the clinic is great, based on my research.
They are offering a significant pay increase and better hours then I get now. They also offer
$3k of CEU funds per calendar year.
Just curious what others think of this.
Thanks,
Sarah S.

I don't see a problem with this as long as referrals to/from the other health care professionals are medically necessary and the patient will benefit from treatment. I do get referrals from chiropractors and refer to chiropractors as well if I think a patient will benefit from an adjustment to get back into alignment. After the adjustment the patient will come back to PT for me to help them maintain their alignment through exercises, postural training, etc.

Thanks for the input. I talked to the therapists that already work there and they love it. I have decided to go a head and take the position. My rehab director at the hospital was not happy however I was leaving however. I am surprised that a small outpatient clinic can offer a better package with CE money etc.. than a hospital can or will rather. |

Hello Sarah,
Sometimes small clinics offer a better package as they want to have experienced professionals who are competent in their work. This helps in getting more satisfied patients. Healthcare professionals are there to serve the community no matter from a large hospital or a small clinic. Serving is the key. |
