I developed tennis elbow after performing a repetitive job at work. I am no longer doing that job but continued to have pain in my elbow. My doctor sent me to physical therapy and I was given exercises to do. The therapist also did ultrasound using a cortisone cream. That helped a little. However, I continue to have pain. I also use a brace for my elbow. The therapist told me that the next step was to get a cortisone injection. I am just wondering if anyone else out there had any other ideas. Thanks.

The best thing to do is activity modification which you stated you did. As far as other options, your doctor can prescribe stronger anti-inflammatories if you are not already taken them. A cortisone shot may help with the inflammation but if you don't want a shot you can have your P.T. try iontophoresis where an electric current is used to drive the medication into the inflamed site. Ice the area as well if you are not already doing so. If things still don't improve a MRI may be recommended to make sure there is no other damage to tissues in the elbow.
