Our user asked: "I go to a Community college right now but, I want to enter a 4-year or a DPT program. The thing is not a lot of 4-year Colleges offer Physical Therapy. I am really confused and I would like to know what requisites/courses/major I need to to become a physical therapist."
Ask a PT Response: "The physical therapy profession is moving towards a Doctorate in physical therapy. Most schools are now either offering DPT degrees or transitioning to offering one. My suggestion would be for you to contact which school you are interested in attending to determine what prerequisites are required. For more information on PT schools you can visit the APTA website: http://www.apta.org/AM/Template.cfm?section=PT_Programs&template=/aptaapps/accreditedschools/acc_schools_map.cfm&process=3&type=PT " Edited by Ask a PT - Nov 18 2008 at 3:54pm |
