Our user asked: "I have had this before and I had a physical therapist look at it while I was at work. He said it was my rib that has popped out or something in that manner. He had me lay down and pushed his hand on it and pushed his weight against me. I heard the pop and I felt so much better. But now I have the same pain again and I believe it's the same thing. I think its my way of sleeping. what can i do to prevent this?"
Ask a PT Response: "I am assuming you are having issues at your costothoracic joint. First thing I would do is to see if you can contact the PT which you have worked with in the past and see if you could consult with him to address your condition. The costothoracic joint is a very difficult area to treat on your own. Without physically evaluating you, I would not be able to determine what may be contributing to your condition. Sorry I could not have been of more help."
