Our user asked: "I had cervicalfusion c3-c7. My left arm was not functioning. I am unable to raise my arm or bend my elbow using my biceps. I can partially lift my arm using other muscles. What kind of excercise or therapy will bring the nerve back?I have no pain."
Ask a PT Response: "In general it is estimated that axonal nerve regeneration occurs at 1 mm per day. Therefore, recovery from an injury such as yours will require much time. Meanwhile, for a condition similiar to yours, I would have my patients work on performing active assisted range of motion exercises utilizing there uninvolved extremity to assist and having them perform isometric exercises. Good luck with your recovery."
