Our user asked: "I play tennis competitively and my wrist has been bothering me for the past month. Ibeprofen helps, as well as an Icyhot pack, and a wrist support when I am playing, but the pain is making me a little worried. What can I do to make it go away fast besides simply resting?"
Ask a PT Response: "I guess my first question to you would be have you been doing anything different which may have led to your current situation? ie. new racket, new grip size, new activity you have been performing, etc. If you can figure that out that will help you with preventing this injury again. As far as treatment you are taking the appropriate steps: rest, anti-inflammatories, ice, wrist support. Some gentle stretching and strengthening exercises could be perofmred as well, but I would recommend you see a PT to determine which exercises would be appropriate for you." |
