Our user asked: "I have a patient who has fleetin, sharp intermittent low back pain, which seems sacroilliac in nature. It's exacerbated with sit to stand from a very soft chair, accompanied by urinary incontinence. Nerve conduction was normal. Gluts were initially weak, stronger now with therapy. Any ideas?"

Ask a PT response: "Here is a great article to rule out other conditions which may be contributing to sx http://www.cyberpt.com/ptscreenlowback.asp

To help you out I would need some further information. How old is the patient? Does the patient have a history of urinary incontinence and has cauda equina syndrome been ruled out? What resulted in the onset of pain? What was discovered in the lumbar and SI exam? What has your plan of care been? etc.."
