Our user asked: "I had surgery on my Achilles in 12/08. I am still having a lot of pain/problems. Can you give me some exercises that I can do to increase the strength and flexibility? Thanks."

Ask a PT Response: "It would probably be a good idea to see a PT to determine what issues you are having and to obtain a treatment plan which would be specific to your needs. For my patients who I see that are further out time wise from achilles tendon repair surgery, I would work on stretches which includes both gastroc & soleus, functional strengthening (ie. dynamic lunges, stairs, toe raises, heel raises, pivoting, single leg stance, BAPS board, airex cushion, etc.), joint mobs, functional/postural training, PNF, manual therapy, etc."
