I am a very heavy female with a problem with my right leg. The inner thigh, almost up to where the joints come together i guess.. causes me some severe pain. I have not been able to bend over beyond say picking up something about a foot from the floor unless i maneuver around, depending on the left leg to bend me where i need to be, for a few years now. I feel that the weight of my stomach is contributing to this, as well as about 8 years of pretty much doing nothing but sitting at a desk and typing on a computer.

I've started on Nutrisystems this year and have done well so far. I would like to WALK but the pain is really so aggravating I would sooner sit than attempt to walk. I ride a recumbant bike to burn calories and use a home gym to build muscle strength. I have a resistance band attached to the door that i use to do core work with.

I have arthritis pretty bad in my spine and knee and maybe its possible I've got some there too I know that stretching helps my knee which has alot of arthur in it. I will most definitely see a dr but i am wondering if theres something i can do to stretch my thigh. just feels like somethings going to SNAP if i go to far. as tho id get alot further if i just break that leg off at the joint and position it where i want it to be so i can do what i want to do lol but obviously thats not an option.

I just want to walk and not be in so much pain. I had a fall about 4 years ago, which oddly enough did not effect my knee. i wonder if the brute force of over 300 lbs might have cracked something. i just think of everthing. i actually have a high tolerance to pain as i walked around on 3 broken bones in my foot for 2 wks before actually going to the dr until one night i screamed bloody murder and my husband made me go.

Any help pleeaaaaaaaaaseCry

That is great that you have started Nutrisystem and you are exercising to help with reducing your weight. From what you have described, it sounds like participating in an aquatic therapy program would fair well for you given your arthritis and weight issue. Exercising in the water allows for less stress to occur at your joints. As far as stretching out the inner thigh, I would often have my patients start off on their backs with the invloved knee bent and then have them move the knee towards the surface so that a stretch could be felt through the inner thigh/groin region. They are instructed to hold up to 30 secs and to repeat 3-4 times 2-3 x's a day. If you get a chance see if you can get physical therapy to include aquatic therapy for your condition. This would be a great adjunct to what you have already started doing!
