Our user asked: "My knee bends backwards sometimes. What can I do to help with this problem?"
Ask a PT Response: "I am assuming you are describing hyperextension at the knee. For my patients that have this issue, I would have them work on quad and hamstring strengthening focusing on eccentric control and stabilization. Some of the exercises which I would have my patients do to work on this would be partial squats and lunges, terminal knee extension with tubing, single leg squats, leg press, etc. If this is affecting your function and you are experiencing pain a physical therapist can help with this condition."
