Our user asked: "Can a PT who pass the exam in state of New York will be able to apply to work in the state of California? What are the steps to make?"

Ask a PT Response: "If you posess a New York license it should not be hard to obtain a license in CA. Check with CA to see what requirements would be for http://www.ptbc.ca.gov/"

Before 2009 NY state didn't require additional credits to get the visa screen or sit for the NPTE exams. However the rules have changed now. Ofcourse you could apply for the state of California. If you are an Indian there are more chances that you will the general credits. The general credits can be fulfilled through CLEP exams. Furthermore California state has its own jurisdiction law exam that you need to clear before you have license endorsed. One of my friend just moved to california. If you have your DPT than I think you wont be short of the professional credits like pharmacology. But if you are not a DPT you might lack some of the professional credits.
Thanks

I mean you might lack the general credits which are around 35-45 depending upon the state in India where you graduated.

Firstly you will be required Certificate of Completion Form (P1E), Verification of PT or PTA License, and Resume of Work Experience.
