Our user asked: "Hello, I'm a freshman from the Philippines, and I'm pursuing Physical Therapy as my pre-med. I just want to know if, can I have my own clinic once I graduate? Like, even I wasn't able to pass the board exam or only licensed PT's are allowed ti have their own? Because I'm still contemplating whether to continue it to become a doctor. My parents are driving me nuts and I need some clarifications, because they are worried that I won't be able to do this and that. Please, enlighten me. Thank you."
Ask a PT Response: "You need to pass the boards in order to practice physical therapy and have your own clinic. To do so in the USA without passing the boards and licensure is illegal. Best of luck to you."
