Our user asked: "I had scoliosis surgery about 3 years ago. I really want to tone my stomach (other areas too) but I have trouble finding a stomach exercise that works. My scoliosis rod is locating from about the middle of my back down to my hip so it makes bending at my stomach pretty difficult. I try situps and crunches but I can't bend the appropriate muscles. Any suggestions? "
Ask a PT Response: "Physioball exercises would be a great tool for helping with core/abdominal training. Otherwise, other equipment such as the Pilates reformer or other gym equipment may be helpful as well. E-stim to the abdominals may be another possibility. Check with your PT or physician for further information."
