Our user asked: "I am currently a student at Arcadia university doing a business plan on opening a Private practice attached to a gym, I was wonderingwhere I could find the costs of starting this so I will be able to show them in my business plan-- thank you"

Ask a PT Response: "One of the therapists I work with manages a practice at a gym. What you would need to do is find out how much it would cost to lease a space. I'd suggest you call a gym in your area to find out as rent will vary depending on location and square footage. He pays about $5,000 a month for two treatment rooms and a check in area with utilities included. He has access to all the equipment in the entire gym. For costs you will want to take in consideration support staff/labor, insurance, benefits, equipment, etc. Here is a link for some of the equipment that may be needed. Obviously by having a clinic at a gym you will not have to purchase as much equipment: http://www.cyberpt.com/ptforum/forum_posts.asp?TID=299
You can look up prices for equipment at various websites ie: http://www.source1medical.com/ . I hope this helps and feel free to contact us should you have additional questions."
