Our user asked: "How long to people usually go to PT after a hip replacement? I am 56, had both knees replaced four years ago, and had my hip replaced six weeks ago. I was very active before the surgery."
Ask a PT Response: "Physical therapy after a hip replacement is not as common as after a knee replacement. Physical therapy treatment duration will vary greatly from individual to individual. Patients that have undergone a hip replacement and have had physical therapy under me usually participate for about 1-2 months coming 2-3 time a week. I hope this helps and good luck with your recovery!"
