Our user asked: "Hello, My question is: whether or not, in Illinois, one needs a doctorate to practice Physical Therapy? I thought one only needed a masters. Thank you for your time"
Ask a PT Response: "Most PT programs are now doctorate programs. At this time, the degree (DPT, MPT, BS) that a PT posesses doesn't affect licensure to practice as long as the individual has succesfully passed the national physical therapy exam and meets and passes each indivuidual states' requirements."
