Our user asked: "Is physical therapy a good choice in addressing fibromyalgia? Other choices??"

Ask a PT Response: "Physical therapy is a good choice for addressing fibromyalgia. With a physical therapy evaluation, the physical therapist can determine the best course to take to help the patient minimize symptoms and optimize function. Treatment can include and is not limited to stretching, strengthening, stabilization, postural training, functional training, soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, joint mobs, aquatic therapy, modalities (ie. hot/cold pack, ultrasound ...), energy conservation techniques, and patient education. A web site that a past user recommended which I found useful to learn more about fibromyalgia is: http://www.immunesupport.com/fibromyalgia-understanding.htm - http://www.immunesupport.com/fibromyalgia-understanding.htm . Feel free to contact us should you have additional questions."
