Our user asked: "My vertigo recently lasted 3 weeks and has now subsided. Should the Brandt maneuver be done even when there are no syptoms evident in order to prevent the vertigo or only when the vertigo is present? Thank you."

Ask a PT Response: "If you are no longer experiencing symptoms, then you can stop the exercises entirely. It is not necessary to continue with the exercise as you have obtained your objective and the debris (ear rocks) are no longer affecting a sensitive location. In most persons, complete relief from symptoms is obtained in one week. I hope this helps and thanks for using CyberPT."
