Our user asked: "I want to tknow is there a chart availible do you know if I put a electric muscle stimulator on a set of muscles set at (300us Width)and (150hz Rate) for a program time 8 reps per. minute (set at 5 seconds on 2 seconds off)for 30 minutes. How many pounds am I simulating, per rep and total work out?"

Ask a PT Response: "Unfortunately we are not familiar with a chart that correlates electrical stimulation intensity with the amount of weight which is performed. Our assumption is that the conditioning, physiology, number of motor units, and type of muscle fibers that are involved with contracting a certain muscle or muscle group will differ among each individual, thus making it difficult to have a standarized setting across the board to correlate amount of power generated to lift an objective amount of weight when utilizing electrical stimulation. If you do come across a chart please let us know. Thanks for using CyberPT."
