Our user asked: "I am PT patient getting treated for labral tear in my RIght hip. I am also trying to get pregnant and received an IUI exactly one week ago. Ihav been getting ultrasound therapy regularly and totally forgot that I shouldn't have gotten it today. It my fault for not mentioning to the PT. Now I am completely freaked out that I have done irreversible damage if I am pregnant or compromised the pregnancy (if I am). Especially since the ultrasound was basically right over my right ovary and right hip. Any info would be appreciated."

Ask a PT response: "Ultrasound definitely shouldn't be utilized over the uterus given your situation. From your description of where the ultrasound was applied and given the limited amount of time in which ultrasound the application was utilized I think you should be fine. I would have have further discussion with your PT and MD as they are familiar with your case and with working with you to address your concerns."
