I'm learning my splits right now, been working for about a month. I can get all the way to the ground on my right splits (right leg forward), but when trying for left splits, I feel a sharp pain in my left thigh. The pain is worst on the inner thigh, about 2 inches above my knee, but it pulls all along the muscle running from my knee up my thigh to some extent. My left knee is still a solid foot or more off the ground when I try the left split and it's all because I can't get past this pain. No pain in hip flexors at all. It does not hurt at all otherwise, this is just because I'm trying for splits. Is this something I'll be able to stretch past with time, or is it going to require more serious intervention?
