Our user asked: "a month ago i was diagnosed with the above. ive gone to one treatment and i felt better after i walked out but still needing assistance. i was then scheduled for antoher appt time and now another appt date.......can you please advise meif there are any other therapeutic facilities in the port jefferson area that i can try? thank you......also....are there any home positions i can do to hasten this whole thing?"

Ask a PT Response: "From my experience total relief from BPPV is usally achieved with 1-3 visits. A common exercise prescribed by PT's for a patient to perform at home is called the Brandt-Daroff exercise. Your PT should be familiar with it and will be able to show you the proper way to perform this exercise as it correlates with his or her PT findings. Don't attempt to perform this on your own as it could make your condition worse if not done in correlation to your PT findings. As far as recommending a PT clinic we are unable make any recommendations. Perhaps your physician could make a recommendation. Good luck with your recovery and thanks for using CyberPT."
