I have been researching this career and am very interested in becoming a PT. I would like to know of the experiences that any one has in this field. As far as a typical day, time spent in school, and salary.

I find physical therapy a very rewarding career. My favorite part about being a PT is being able to have a patient come in with a problem and being able to conduct an evaluation and  problem solve to determine what may be contributing to the patient's problem.  Than I will develop a treatment plan and treat the patient. I find it very rewarding to be able to help the patient and see he or she improve.

Typical day, usually depends on what setting you are in ie. outpatient, inpatient, nursing home, schools, etc..

School- PT degree is now a doctorate degree. Programs are usally 2 1/2 - 3 years long including clinicals.  I hope this helps.

Yes, it does and if you don't mind me asking how long were you in school for. From when you entered as a freshmen to your degree in PT just want to see what I am in store for.

I got my BS in Kinesiology which took 4 years and my masters in PT which took almost 3 years (this includes clinicals).

When you got your BS in that, did you have an emphasis in prephysical therapy?

My BS was in Kinesiology- Exercise Science so I did end up taking quite a few classes which helped me prepare for the physical therapy curriculum
