Our user asked: "I had lateral epicondylitis surgery Dec 22nd 2008. I cant afford physical therapy sessions anymore. I was wondering if I could get a chart with the post op exercises for this condition. I have searched online and found nothing. Please help."

Ask a PT Response: "There really isn't a protocol for this surgery. Physical therapists will treat their patients based on findings from the evaluation performed and communication with the surgeon. My recommendation would be to contact the surgeon's office to see if they have exercise instructions for you. If not ask them since you are almost 2 1/2 months out if there are any precautions or restrictions as far as what you can or can't do as this will give you a better idea of what exercises could be performed. Generally with any surgery PTs' will work on helping the patient achieve full range of motion, strength, decreasing edema, decreasing tissue irritability and improving function. Feel free to contact us should you have additional questions."
