Our user asked: "HOW BENEFICIAL IS THERAPY TO SPEED RECOVERY AFTER SURGERY?"

Ask a PT Response: "Depending on the extent/type of surgery performed rehab will vary. An extended period of rest is usually recommended after the surgery so as not to disrupt the surgical intervention. Your surgeon can recommend to you when it would be an appropriate time to begin therapy if it is needed. Once you are cleared to begin participation in PT, therapy can definitely help you gain additional strength, range of motion, etc. quicker than if you were not participating."
