Just wondering what other hospitals use as their target for productivity for their inpatient physical therapy services. In our organization our target billable productivity is 60%. This takes into account all the variables involved with inpatient care that would take away from productivity ie. meals, bathing, bathroom, medical tests etc.. Is the threshold set higher in other organizations. Just curious.

Our inpatient department's target productivty is comparable. It is around 65-70% billable. ie. 15 min for 1 unit- 2 units can be 1 unit of gait training and 1 unit of ther ex. Our department has been pretty consistent as far as our numbers go. As patient case load goes up so do our numbers and productivity.
