Our user asked: "I had surgery for a torn meniscus in April. I then had a total knee replacement on the same knee in July. I have been struggling with many of the symptoms I see that are related to RSD. I am looking for assistance to my concern. Due to other health issues and this one, I have applied for Social Security. I do not have a diagnois of RSD but tuely believe I may have the condition. The pain I am experienceing has to be more than the two surgeries I have had.I lost my health insurance in July. Are there any options available to me to be assisted with my health concern? Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your response."

Ask a PT Response: "RSD is often over looked by healthcare professionals and is not uncommon to develop after a surgery. However, it will require further medical attention and testing to establish this diagnosis. The RSDSA website is a great resource and gives visitors who have financial difficulties some options. http://www.rsds.org/4/resources/out_work/out_of_work_2.html - http://www.rsds.org/4/resources/out_work/out_of_work_2.html   Best of luck to you."
