how can you assist a child whose 5 years of age and just came off the plaster of 6 weeks, to be able to walk again?

What was the injury and where was the injury? If a cast was just removed, you can have the child practice parts of walking by holding onto something for support (ie. table, etc.) and having the child perform play activities such as partial lunges with reaching, or sidestepping holding on to support, or partial squats, etc.. You can then put the parts together and have the child work on walking with hand held support and than no support. Hope this helps.

If its motivation he/she is lacking i would try to make it into a game, so its fun for them to exercise. For example: go outside and see who can not step on a crack the longest. Giving support if its needed
