Our user asked: "Hello, Do you know if demi-plie's are bad for the knees(feet together, turned out 45 or more degrees, heels remain flat as knees bend)?"

Ask a PT Response: "I was unable to find any research that revealed demi-plie's resulted in knee damage. I would believe that this technique would put additional stresses on the lateral aspect of the knees. For individuals who have some structural issues at the knees or have strength or flexibility issues, this could contribute to injury. Are you experiencing problems when performing this technique?"
