Our user asked: "Hi, Do you need to be a PT or MD to own an outpatient rehab clinic?"

Ask a PT Response: "No you don't have to be a PT or MD to own an outpatient rehab clinic. There are organizations out there who will start a PT practice and then hire a PT(s) to staff the facility. A physician owned practice is greatly frowned upon by the American Physical Therapy Association, however, and may face greater scrutiny under the new health care reform laws.
