Our user asked: "would like some iideas on how to stretch and strengthen the vastus lateralis and biceps femoris"

Ask a PT Response: "Click here for link of video clip for quads stretching: http://www.cyberpt.com/cptvid15.asp - http://www.cyberpt.com/cptvid15.asp . A belt can be secured around the ankle to allow for pulling of the heels towards the buttock at various angles to stress the inner (vastus medialis) and outer (vastus lateralis) portions of the quadriceps muscle.

Click here for link of video for hamstring stretching: http://www.cyberpt.com/cptvid30.asp - http://www.cyberpt.com/cptvid30.asp . The stretch should be felt in the middle of the hamstring muscle which is located at the back of the leg. Bending towards the left or right at different angles, will allow for the stretch of slightly different areas of the hamstring."
