Our user asked: "Hi, I have been having a new problem with positional vertigo for the past 4 weeks with pressure/pain in my ears, ringing, spinning of the room when lifting my head off my pillow or going down on my pillow when getting in bed. Also have this sensation looking down or up or rapid head movements. Where do I start to get physical therapy for this? Do I get tested first before PT? Please let me know and is it still possible to fly on a plane with this condition?"

Ask a PT Response: "You should be able to start PT right away. Your PT will conduct testing to determine if you truly have BPPV and on which side it may be occuring on. I would check with your phsician or PT prior to flying. If it truly is BPPV, I am not aware that flying is a contraindication. Best of luck to you."
