I am just wondering if anyone else sends their patients who have had a rotator cuff repair to aquatic therapy if they are not progressing well and are in a lot of pain. I find that these individuals tolerate therapy for their shoulder in the water better because of the warmth and buoyancy of the water.

I have had some of my patients that have had RCR's participate in aquatics as well. They seem to tolerate the water therapy better than the land therapy. However, I don't do this too often and don't do this unless the individual is not progressing well secondary to the pain.
