I have had problems for several years in my upper back. Doctor told me it was a trapezius strain..But he couldn't treat me because he was my workers comp doctor and treating me for another injury. I can stand in my kitchen and peel potatoes or cook anything before I finish I am hurting so bad it is unreal. It even hurts when I take a deep breath and I am so sore in my back. What do you suggest that I do? I have dealth with this for a long time and it just gets worse.

There are many things that could be causing your pain. A middle and upper trapezius strain usually can result in pain in the upper back. So can the rhomboids. Since you have had this condition for several years now, it may be a good idea to consult with a physical therapist to determine if you have issues such as weakness, tightness, imbalances, postural dysfunction, etc which could be contributing to your condition. The therapist will be able to prescribe exercises for you based on the findings from the evaulation. |
